Marie-Pierre St-Onge, PhD, is a Professor of Nutritional Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center and the Director of the Center of Excellence for Sleep & Circadian Research. She completed her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in Human Nutrition at McGill University, where her early work examined the effects of kefir and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) on energy metabolism and cardiometabolic risk. Following her postdoctoral training at the New York Obesity Nutrition Research Center, she served on the faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham before returning to Columbia University, where she has led NIH-funded research exploring the relationships between sleep, energy balance, and obesity. Her work on the bidirectional links between diet and sleep has established her as a leading international expert in the field.
