Professor Fatma Nur Baran Aksakal is a Professor of Public Health and Head of the Environmental Health Division at Gazi University's Faculty of Medicine. She is a medical doctor and Public Health Specialist with a Master's degree in Environmental Medicine. Before her academic career, she worked at the Turkish Ministry of Health in the Department of Communicable Diseases, where she was involved in establishing the national surveillance system for adverse events following immunization (AEFI). Since 2016, she has been a member of the WHO-EURO European Technical Advisory Group of Experts (ETAGE) on Immunization, with a current focus on life-course immunization and vaccine hesitancy.
